Overview

Certain elements of risk management are classic:  relationships, communication, and the environment of care.  This course examines how relationships between physicians and other medical team members affect quality care and risk management. 

Objectives


Upon completion of this course, a physician should be able to:
1. Detect common communication traps that hinder relationships.
2. Recognize the influence of cooperative teamwork on liability control.
3. Develop a plan for strengthening your medical team.


Target Audience

This course is designed for physicians of all specialties.

Methodology

This is a self-study course consisting of text and CME test.  Physicians should read the course content, answer the test questions and submit the answers for scoring.  Those who complete the course with a score of 80 percent or higher will earn a maximum of 1 AMA PRA Category 1 creditTM.
